I am an Accredited Counsellor with COSCA and work within the COSCA’s ethical framework. I have my own private practice in the southside of Glasgow. I also rent a room in West George Street.
I am trained in Integrative Counselling using Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic approaches. I am comfortable working with supervisees from other theoretical backgrounds and approaches.
I have experience of working with individuals and with couples. I have experience of working in the Scottish Prison Service for the past 6 years.
I teach on an HNC Counselling Course at a further education college.
I am a trainer and have run workshops on building private practice to other counsellors.
My aim is to offer counselling supervision in a safe, relaxed space for you to reflect on your work and your therapy. I bring patience, humour, honesty, and a non-judgemental attitude to our supervision relationship. I will encourage and support you to reflect on personal and professional issues that are influencing your practice. I provide space in our sessions for you to explore feelings that are difficult or uncomfortable; or those that make you unsure of what is going on in your sessions.
I will encourage you to consider your self-care so that you can be there to help your clients. My aim is to help you to grow as a therapist, keep professional boundaries and work to a professional standard.
As the supervision relationship is so important to your work, I would be happy to meet with prospective supervisees for an initial exploratory session to get a feel for how we might work together.
