Supervision

I am an Accredited Counsellor with COSCA and work within the COSCA’s ethical framework.  I have undergone training in supervision and have been awarded the COSCA Counselling Supervision Certificate.

I can offer supervision either online or face-to-face in the southside of Glasgow or in East Kilbride.

I am trained in Integrative Counselling using Person-Centred, CBT and Psychodynamic approaches.  I am comfortable working with supervisees from other theoretical backgrounds and approaches.

I have experience of working with individuals and with couples.  I have experience of working in the Scottish Prison Service for the past 7 years.

I am a trainer and run workshops to help other counsellors build their private practice.  I also offer one to one sessions for those seeking advice on building their private practice.

My aim is to offer counselling supervision in a safe, relaxed space for you to reflect on your work and your therapy.  I bring patience, humour, honesty, and a non-judgemental attitude to our supervision relationship.  I will encourage and support you to reflect on personal and professional issues that are influencing your practice.  I provide space in our sessions for you to explore feelings that are difficult or uncomfortable; or those that make you unsure of what is going on in your sessions.

I will encourage you to consider your self-care so that you can be there to help your clients.  My aim is to help you to grow as a therapist, keep professional boundaries and work to a professional standard.

As the supervision relationship is so important to your work, I would be happy to meet with prospective supervisees for an initial meeting to have a chat and get a feel for how we might work together.

Online and/or Face-to-Face work

I can support your client work whether it is online or face-to-face counselling that you offer.  It is important that we understand the different psychological processes that affect our clients by the way we work.

Group Supervision

I am currently running group supervision on the first Wednesday evening of every month.  We meet in my East Kilbride office.  The purpose of this group is to provide a safe and supportive space for counsellors to discuss their client work and meet with other counsellors.  You are very welcome to join this friendly group of counsellors.
